Refund Policy

Effective: July 13, 2026Last updated: July 13, 2026

1. General rule

Birthday gifts are voluntary transactions.

A completed gift is generally final after it has been successfully processed and made available to the recipient, except where:

  • law requires otherwise;
  • the transaction was duplicated;
  • the payment was unauthorized;
  • a technical error occurred;
  • the wrong amount was charged;
  • the recipient was ineligible;
  • Jorrify or the payment provider cancelled the transaction;
  • exceptional circumstances justify review.

2. Refund requests

Contact: support@jorrify.com

Include:

  • Transaction reference
  • Payment date
  • Gift amount
  • Reason
  • Relevant celebration

Do not request complete card numbers by email.

3. Duplicate payments

Verified duplicate charges may be refunded.

4. Unauthorized payments

Users should contact Jorrify promptly and notify their payment provider where appropriate.

Jorrify may investigate and request information.

5. Change of mind

A change-of-mind request may not qualify after:

  • the gift has been completed;
  • funds have been transferred;
  • the recipient has accessed the gift;
  • the group gift has closed.

⚠️ Pending Legal Review

The final change-of-mind rule is pending legal review. Ontario consumer-protection law may impose additional cooling-off or cancellation rights depending on the nature of the transaction.

6. Group-gift refunds

A contribution is not automatically refundable because:

  • the target was not reached;
  • other participants did not contribute;
  • the giver changed their mind.

The product must clearly state what happens if a group target is not reached.

Recommended MVP:

All confirmed contributions remain gifts to the verified celebrant whether or not the displayed target is reached.

7. Service fees

State clearly whether service fees are refundable.

Recommended draft:

Where a full refund is approved before final settlement, Jorrify may refund the associated service fee. Where processing costs have already been incurred, the treatment of fees will depend on applicable law, payment-provider rules and the circumstances.

⚠️ Pending Legal Review

The final service-fee refund rule is pending legal review.

8. Refund timing

Approved refunds are submitted promptly, but posting time depends on:

  • payment method;
  • financial institution;
  • payment provider.

Do not promise a fixed completion date unless supported.

9. Refund abuse

Jorrify may restrict accounts associated with:

  • repeated abusive refund requests;
  • fraudulent claims;
  • intentional chargeback misuse.

10. Consumer rights

Nothing in this policy limits non-waivable rights under applicable consumer-protection law.

Online transactions may be subject to Ontario consumer-protection requirements depending on the nature and value of the agreement.
